The Orphan Train:
“From 1850 to the 20th century, thousands of children were transferred from the overcrowded orphanages and homes   in the large cities in the northeastern part of the United States, to live with families on farms throughout the middle West. Almost every state took in an orphan over the years. The name Orphan Train originates with the railroad trains that transported the children to their new homes. Come learn more about these often-overlooked kids. If you hit a brick wall, your ancestor just might be part of the Orphan Train kids.” — [Date Time Location] — Presenter: Tina Sansone
